Typically, when an employee leaves a firm he or she is asked to complete an exit interview. The exit interview normally consists of a number of questions that an employee answers to help human resources understand why the person is leaving.

For companies that are not sure how to best go about creating this exit interview, there exists an exit interview questions tool to help with questions.

The Microsoft Word template that companies can use to create their exit interview forms is simple and straight forward. There is a list of questions that the employee is asked to answer. All of the questions are designed to reveal any weak areas in employee morale to human resources so that these issues can be corrected going forward.

The reason this is important is that if a company has a lot of turnover, it not only creates a negative work environment, it also costs the company a lot of money. With this streamlined exit interview questionnaire, human resources can get all of the information it needs to see what the supervisors and company is doing right with their employees and what they are doing wrong.

As this template is a Word document, your company can edit the content. During the process, we recommend you encourage employees to be up front and honest when answering the questions because it is for the purpose of improving the working conditions for all of the remaining employees. As long as the exit interview questions you create are to the point and easy to understand, the exiting employee should have little to no problem completing the form.
