All companies require some form of advertising. Depending on the company and the channel for the advertisement, ad space and/or air time can be quite expensive. You also have to remember which stations and which newspapers and magazines have specific deadlines.

The odds are that no two of them will have the same exact deadline. In order to keep track of all this information as well as the amount in the advertising budget, you should use an advertising calendar and budget template. This will allow you to keep everything relating to your advertising neatly organized so you can stay on top of it.

The advertising calendar and budget template is for Microsoft Excel, which provides an easy to use spreadsheet. Since it is likely your company depends on advertisements to generate sales and business, that means you need to make sure you have them all submitted to each of the places you need to run the ads before the deadline. It is important to aim to get it to them before the deadline. With time sensitive ads, you just can't afford to miss an ad deadline.

Once you fill in your advertising budget calendar, you can print it out and hang it up where you can see it at all times. Also, if you have a team of employees who handle the advertising budget, you can give them each a copy every week or month so they are always aware of what is due when and how much there is left to spend on advertisements. This is important because the ad team can't go over budget, so the ads have to be planned well so you can make the most of the budget.

As the days pass each month, you will likely find it necessary to rearrange some ads or add some or drop some. If this does happen, be sure to create a new calendar with the corrected information so that everyone in the department is on the same page.
