Unfortunately, social media implementation isn't discussed as often as it should be. Many have ideas about how social media can work for their company.

However, when it comes time implementing a strategy, often these efforts fall short. Many companies soon find that their employees are frustrated when efforts are not handled properly. In this regard, implementation is just as important as planning.

Many people expect changes involving social media to occur almost instantaneously. In fact, it's quite common for companies to become frustrated when they don't see the immediate results of the hard work they've put into it. This is one of the many reasons it is important to have a social media implementation strategy.

One step we recommend with social media is to have a regular routine. We also recommend, to make the experience more valuable, is to include insights from employees who work in different departments. Customers will usually want to read updates from the owner or CEO. However, the IT specialist, legal expert or other important member of your team can also provide perspectives that your customers might want to hear about. You can accomplish this by giving all of them access to the company profiles, or perhaps giving each one their own.

Always make sure you have clear guidelines and policies regarding posted content. You want to make sure everyone presents your company in the best light possible. However, leaving room to express humor and personality always helps establish better rapport. This will help save your employees a lot of potential problems that could prove somewhat embarrassing.
